The Eccellenze del Sud award was accompanied by a series of events and initiatives that raised its profile over time. The award began in 2012 during the Terronian Festival and later returned for the events programme “Le Eccellenze dei Sensi” (the excellence of the senses) and initiatives such as “Il Gran Gusto del Sud” (the taste of the South), “Serata al Chjostro coi Fritti d’Autore” (A night at Il Chjostro with the master deep-fry) and “Raccontami… Napoli narrata dalle sue eccellenze” (Tell me… Naples narrated by its excellences).
